Caleigh Capes is proud to support the
USA Women's Olympic Curling team. Bemidji is a curling town and
members of both the women's and men's 2006 Olympic teams have ties
to our

We made capes for the team
before their 19-27 March 2005 trip to Scotland for the World Championship.
Cassie and crew surprised the world by taking the
Silver Medal!
2005 World Championship Summary: Team
USA finished the round robin at 10-1 to qualify for the the four
team playoff. [Round Robin Results: USA-SCO 9-8, USA-DEN 6-5, USA-SUI
10-7, USA-CHI 7-4, USA-RUS 5-4, USA-JAP 12-1, USA-SWE 4-6, USA-FIN
9-4, USA-NOR 8-3, USA-CAN 10-7, USA-ITA 9-5]. In the first round
of the playoff, Team USA knocked off previously unbeaten Sweden
6-5 with a steal in the tenth end. Sweden played their way back
to the title game by beating Norway who had eliminated Canada earlier
in the day. In the Gold Medal game, the score was tied 4-4 going
after eight ends. Sweden, with the hammer, scored two in the ninth
and then managed to keep US rocks out play and ended up winning
by a deceptively wide 10-4 margin. Overall, a very impressive tournament
for the young Team USA!
